"A Mid Summer Social" - Rose Center Fund Raising Event
The Virtual Summer Social, generously presented by Morristown Utilities, will be different than last year's inaugural event, which was a big hit. Ticket holders will still receive an original work of art, and there will still be a silent auction. Local artists have been bringing in their donated works to Rose Center, and all the pieces are really nice! Numbers will be randomly assigned to the pieces and matched with the ticket of the same number. Some of the artists who have donated so far are Dan Gibson, Peggy Brewer, Tom and Cathy Teller, Bill Long, Debra Williams, Charlotte Brindley, Cindy Trobaugh, Douglas Moses, Myra Anderson, Mike Sandlock, Judy Lutrell, Peter and Liz Michael, and David Freeman. Anyone can bid on auction items, not just ticket holders. Hurst Auction has a free app that must be downloaded to see the items. Anyone who plans to bid will need to register ahead of time.  This event is organized by members of the artists Advisory Council: Christina Blazer, Peggy Brewer, Dan Gibson, Vicki Kinser, Liz Michael, Carol Rouse, and Robert Spirko, along with staff members Charlotte Brindley and Beccy Hamm. The Board of Directors is seeking items for the auction. The auction will include more art, a quilt by Fay Andrews, gift baskets, gift certificates and many more fun items. Look for photos on social media! Individuals and businesses who would like to support this fundraiser for Rose Center by donating items of value may call 423-581-4330, and set up a time to drop off the items, or have them picked up.
